Well-Being Assistant

Location: Pembroke House, Gillingham
Salary: £12 per hour
Job type: Full Time (inc weekend rota)

The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust is a charity that gives help, in cases of need, to serving and former Royal Naval ratings and Royal Marines. We also help their partners, children and some others connected with them. The RNBT has a ‘family-run’ feel and we have carefully created a supportive, friendly and close-knit team making it a unique and very special place to work. either at the HQ in Portsmouth or at our two nursing and dementia care homes in Gillingham and Southsea.

We are now recruiting for a Wellbeing Assistant at Pembroke House Gillingham . This would also suit any candidate who has a background in Activities Co-ordination.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Working with the Well Being Co-ordinator to plan and lead activities.
  • Work alongside Health Care professionals within the home to ensure residents attend activities of interest and their care needs are met within this setting.
  • To take a person centre approach, understanding the residents individual needs.
  • To promote the welfare, health and safety of residents when on trips.
  • To positively represent Pembroke House at social events.

THE PERSON

This role would suit a highly organised individual, with good communication skills both written and verbal with the understanding of care for the older person. They should also have the ability to confidently lead group sessions for crafting, baking, gardening alongside other activities and be enthusiastic, flexible and innovative.  At Pembroke House we strive to be as inclusive as possible to drive diversity across our teams.
