Housekeeping Assistant
Pembroke House is a purpose-built care home for veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines in Gillingham, Kent that was converted from an orphanage in 1952. We have been serving Royal Navy and Royal Marines veterans and their dependants for 70 years. Our residents and staff enjoy a varied yet familiar way of life to encourage independence and give each day meaning and purpose. It has a ‘family-run’ feel and we have carefully created a supportive, friendly and close-knit team making it a unique and very special place to work.
We are now recruiting for an Assistant Housekeeper to join our team at Pembroke House. Reporting to the Head of Housekeeping, this role provides critical support with the upkeep and cleanliness of the home and the laundering needs of our residents.
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Ensuring that the home is to an excellent standard of cleanliness
- Current knowledge of COSHH and understand roles in respect to wider health guidelines
- Ensuring that COSHH and Health & Safety regulations are adhered to
- Respecting the confidentiality of residents and their families at all times
- Showing courtesy and respect to residents at all times to ensure they enjoy the highest quality of life
The Person
This role would suit a person who shows attention to detail, and with an outgoing personality who would engage with the residents. Experience in this type of work is beneficial but not exclusive.
