Administration Support

Location: Admiral Jellicoe House, Portsmouth
Salary: £12 per hour
Job type: 30 hrs, Mon-Wed 8am-4pm

Setting a new standard in care, Admiral Jellicoe House was opened in June 2022 and is the latest addition to the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust care facilities offering resident-centred care and dedicated dementia support to veterans of the royal navy and their dependants in Portsmouth. Our residents and staff enjoy a varied yet familiar way of life to encourage independence and give each day meaning and purpose. It has a ‘family-run’ feel and we have carefully created a supportive, friendly and close-knit team making it a unique and very special place to work.

We are now recruiting for an Administration Support officer to join our team at Admiral Jellicoe House. Reporting to the Operations Officer, this role provides high quality administrative support in conjunction with the administration team to contribute to the smooth running of Admiral Jellicoe House, as a reliable, approachable, and patient-focused member administration support team.

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Be the first point of contact when visitors arrive and direct, refer or host.
  • Answer the telephone and refer on as appropriate, taking a message when the required person is not available.
  • Be managerially responsible for the Virtual Notice Board and update and maintain via CoolCare4
  • Taking post to the post office on behalf of resident as required.
  • Reconciling staff meals and recharging via wages in liaison with finance dept.
  • Invoicing
  • Managing resident petty cash, liaising with families when top ups required.
  • Managing the signing in and out system ensuring that all visitors sign in and out and updating the alerts to ensure that staff are made aware of important notices.

The Person

This role would suit a person who shows attention to detail, with good organisational and telephone skills.  An individual who would be able to engage with the residents and their families.  Experience in this type of work is beneficial but not exclusive.
