Employee Services Officer

Location: Admiral Jellicoe House, Portsmouth

An opportunity has arisen at our care home, Admiral Jellicoe House in Portsmouth for  the Employee Services Officer.

Purpose of the Position

  • To be responsible for coordinating all recruitment activity at RGN level and below at the Home, including onboarding/induction of employees
  • To be the first point of contact for all employee HR related questions at the home.
  • To be responsible for through life HR task at the Home.
  • Be the conduit between Head Office (HO) (Castaway House) HR advisor and the Home.

Main Duties

  • To manage the recruitment process and support in interviewing staff when appropriate and to ensure the Equal Opportunities Act has been adhered to.
  • To maintain complete and accurate Employee records
  • To be responsible for all contracts for new employees (RGN and below)
  • To conduct staff surveys quarterly and staff file audits. Feedback results to the Home Manager and Heads of Department with agreed action plans as needed.
  • Work with HODs to ensure that staff rotas reflect the required skill mix and establishment levels appropriate to each area and in conjunction with administration support.
  • Liaise with the HO HR Advisor on more complex matters and advise employees accordingly

Qualifications

  • Good General Education
  • English & Maths GCSE, level 4 or equivalent
  • ECDL or equivalent IT skill & knowledge
  • RSA 2 typing or equivalent
