Admiral Jellicoe House

A superb new purpose built veterans care home for the RNBT with specialist dementia facilities for veterans of the Royal Navy

Setting a new standard in care, Admiral Jellicoe House was opened in June 2022 and is the latest addition to the Royal Naval Benevolent Trust care facilities offering resident-centred care and dedicated dementia support to veterans of the royal navy and their dependants in Portsmouth.

Our veterans care home facilities include 66 luxury en suite rooms, an in-house library, cinema room, bar, formal and informal dining room and a communal balcony overlooking the neighbouring park and cricket ground. We are now open and accepting resident applications.

ANOTHER HUNDRED YEARS OF CARE

We are proud to celebrate our centenary with the construction of Admiral Jellicoe House, a brand new, state-of-the-art veterans care home to support the naval community in Portsmouth, home of the Royal Navy.

Our superb care home has facilities to support residents with varying care needs including residential care, nursing care and specialist in-house dementia care.

Supporting independence with wraparound care in later life, our caring community reinforces camaraderie and shared experience of a life of service in the Royal Navy and Royal Marines. We are now open and accepting resident applications.

Embracing the next chapter in life

Our luxury veterans care home has been furnished to an exceptional standard with personal touches that encourage residents to reminisce, enjoy and feel comfortable in familiar surroundings. From nostalgic features and daily traditions to specialised crockery and cutlery to suit residents with varied needs, we believe in embracing every chapter of life and are here to support and empower our residents in their journey. Our Home Manager, has a wealth of experience in care and a passion for creating a caring environment where residents can live independently with respect and dignity, and serves as a main point of contact for all new residents and is happy to talk through any questions or considerations with prospective residents on:

We aim to promote independent living and support our visiting residents with quality care that helps them to return successfully to their own home. As part of this we access veterans services as well as health and social care.

Flexible Respite

This service is for individuals or couples who wish to remain at home but stay with us for short periods of care. Our nursing and care staff are trained to a high standard, supported by skilled and experienced ancillary staff with specialist training to ensure outstanding standards are part of our culture.

Activities

We offer an extensive range of outings, functions and in-house activities such as a nail bar and hairdressing salon, Tea Room and Leander Bar for socialising and games, an in-house cinema to enjoy the latest DVD releases and a library for those quiet moments of contemplation and reading the daily paper.

Gardens

Our landscaped gardens offer many communal areas for rest and relaxation, including a sensory garden and a balcony area overlooking the neighbouring cricket ground where residents can enjoy a ‘tot or tipple’ of choice. Residents can get involved with gardening activities as much as they choose to.

Dining

We offer fine dining as well as simple meals at every mealtime. All meals are healthy and nutritious, made by our chefs using freshly sourced ingredients.

We also welcome residents to access the residents’ kitchen to prepare food if they wish.

Healthcare

As well as our in-house dementia care and nursing care services, residents have access to visiting health care professionals such as chiropodist, optician and dentist. We also provide an extensive range of specialist equipment to care for the veterans and meet their individual needs.

A SENSE OF COMMUNITY

Our residents, staff, volunteers, families and supporters (including the serving Navy and retired communities) all have an important role in making the Home a unique place with a very special atmosphere.

The Friends of Admiral Jellicoe House are our willing band of volunteers who help us add that little bit extra to the lives of our residents by helping out within the Home and by assisting us with our extensive programme of activities and visits.
