Pastures new for long term Royal Maritime Club resident

17th June 2014

After 16 years of living at the Royal Maritime Club, former Royal Navy Steward Tony Richardson moves to pastures new to the Agamemnon Housing Association, Cornwell Court in Southsea.  With the help of a grant from RNBT Tony was able to furnish his ground floor flat with a fridge, bed, table and his beloved ‘Command Chair’ often used more than his bed!  Although having his left leg amputated this has not held Tony back and since joining Cornwell Court is more active than he ever was.  I met Tony during one of the coffee mornings held every Tuesday but there is usually something happening most weeks, bingo and curry nights, the social activities are endless. Tony didn’t realise how living at the Maritime Club had affected him and his health but now he has a new lease of life.
